About the IceCats

The IceCats hockey program is a local community of families and coaches with a shared passion for hockey, fitness and good sportsmanship.

Mission


The IceCats have been going strong since 1978

To nurture a life-long passion for hockey and foster a culture of excellence, by creating opportunities for hockey players & coaches to establish and strive for their goals.  Provide the infrastructure and organization that allows participant to develop athletic, social and sportsmanship skills through participation and practice in the game of hockey.

Vision

The IceCats goal is to become "the" hockey program for Illinois Hockey, a team where athletes and coaches strive to realize excellence on the ice & off the ice, and where character always counts.

Premise

  • Will provide an opportunity for all within the qualifying age and Illinois High School District 128 to participate in hockey
  • Will develop the hockey skills of each participant and prepare them for their next level of participation
  • Will provide a high level of professional instruction in an atmosphere to promote the development of athletic and social skills

The Program covers three distinct seasons

Regular

  • Concentrate on the season and team excellence

Spring

  • Concentrate on player skill development
  • Current 8th Graders are encouraged and welcome to participate

Summer

  • Concentrate on individual development
